What will be an ideal response?
Promote and support standards of practice, educate employers and the public, partner family life education with other intervention services, and family life educators as providers in response to legislation. Example: In promoting and supporting the standards of practice for family life education, FLEs may consider becoming certified as it increases credibility by showing adherence to high standards and expectations. FLEs can educate employers and the public about the benefits of FLE by sharing more information about what it means to be an educator and the training required in preparation for that role. In partnering FLE with other intervention services, it could be beneficial to partner with counseling services as a supplement to individual counseling. Family life educators can also be at the forefront in responding to legislation relevant to family life, such as providing premarital programs in states that offer a discount on marriage licenses for those who attend such a program.
