Why is chemistry described as the "central science"?

What will be an ideal response?

Chemistry is founded on the principles of physics as applied to the atom, but is also an important foundation for the science of living organisms, biology. In this sense, chemistry is "centrally" situated between the two major sciences of physics and biology. Chemistry is also "central" to our economy, which is based in great part upon material resources fabricated and made available with chemical technology. Material resources help to set our standards of living, which makes chemistry central to daily life.
