What are tempered glass and laminated glass? On what part of an automobile is each type typically used?
What will be an ideal response?
Tempered glass is glass made stronger by introducing stress through rapid heating and cooling of the glass surfaces. When tempered glass breaks, it does not shatter but rather fragments or "dices" into small squares with little splintering. It is used in the side and rear windows of U.S.-built cars. Laminated glass is created by sandwiching one layer of plastic between two pieces of ordinary window glass. It is used in the windshields of U.S.-built cars.
