Considering what you have learned about the effects of climate change, who is most likely to be impacted? What factors make nations, groups, or individuals more vulnerable to climate change, and what can be done to assist these communities?

What will be an ideal response?

Students should address the fact that climate change impacts everyone, but the poor and those in developing regions most acutely. Students should provide details from the text to illustrate that they understand that while developed regions may have higher economic costs (due to more development), the developing world experiences the most loss of life, disease, etc. Students should discuss the on-going efforts of the international community to address climate change (UN, Paris Accord, sustainability efforts/projects). Emphasis should be placed on the role of the developed world in funding and supporting climate change efforts in areas with fewer resources. Students should address specific examples of efforts that can be made to assist those vulnerable to climate change; central to this should be a discussion of addressing poverty, urbanization, and/or building social infrastructures.
