What will be an ideal response?

Answer may vary. The basic objective of police patrol is to have a police presence in the community with the effect of deterring crime. Officers may also respond to calls for service and may be able to apprehend criminals if they respond quickly enough. Officers may also be expected to engage in proactive police activities, like performing pedestrian stops or vehicle stops. The methods utilized vary by department but may include foot, motorcycle, vehicle, horse, bicycle, and even rollerblade, or skateboard.
