What kinds of data may be released about an individual who was not convicted of a crime?
What will be an ideal response?
In most cases, the citizen who was not convicted may request that the criminal history record be purged, that is, giving back to the individual with all copies destroyed. In most cases, the request will be honored. There are official forms and this purging is not an easy process. At least a month after purging, citizens should check to see if the purging actually took place. A record that has not been purged can damage a citizen for the rest of the citizen's life.
