Provide evidence for and against the now disproven concept of blended inheritance? What will be an ideal response?
It is easy to see why people believed in blended inheritance. Speaking generally, and especially for
humans, offspring generally tend to look like a combination of their parents. However, there are two
key observations to oppose blended inheritance. First, sometimes offspring produce a trait not present
in either parent, and this would not occur in blending were in control in inheritance. Second, offspring
often possess a trait present in one parent or the other, not a combination of the two.
