Describe the transtheoretical model and how it works.

What will be an ideal response?

The transtheoretical model (TTM) is based on the idea that people must go through stages as they work to change a habit or adopt a new behavior (thus the reason it is referred to as the "stages of change model"). Each stage in the TTM is unique and builds upon the previous stage. Because relapses between stages are common, the model is viewed as a spiral. The five stages of TTM are precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance.
