Explain the role of assessment in the curriculum process
What will be an ideal response?
Assessment shapes knowledge of children's development and learning as it provides information about the strengths and areas of challenge for each child. In turn, knowledge of children informs planning, which provides the foundations for developmentally appropriate curriculum implementation. The effectiveness of the curriculum in supporting children's development and learning is determined through assessment, and the cycle repeats itself.
