Discuss the special nutrient needs for physically active individuals

What will be an ideal response?

The intensity and duration of exercise dictates the relative proportions of fat and carbohydrate that are consumed as fuel during exercise. In general, the lower the intensity of exercise, the more fat is used as a fuel. Conversely, the greater the intensity of exercise, the more carbohydrate is used as a fuel. People engaged in rigorous resistance or endurance exercise training may need to increase their protein intake above the RDA by consuming more protein-containing foods; protein supplements are not generally needed.
