Where do you commonly place the leads for 120V AC readings and what happens if you switch the two?
What will be an ideal response?
When taking readings using ground or a neutral wire (neutral wires are common in
120v systems) the standard procedure is to touch the black, or common, lead to the
ground/neutral portion of the circuit. If you switch the leads from the meter, there is no
change in your readings and as long as you have selected the correct voltage type and
range, there will be no damage to the meter.
