Integrate guidelines for safe hot-weather exercise including checking the heat index, exercising in the morning or evening hours (if possible), wearing lightweight clothing, protecting one's face/head and using sunscreen, drinking plenty of water during exercise, and taking frequent exercise breaks in the shade. In addition, differentiate among heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
