Explain what tweened animation is, making sure to define the two common types of tweens in Flash.
What will be an ideal response?
With tweened animation, Flash automatically creates animation between two keyframes. You define the starting and ending keyframes, and then modify the object or symbol. "Tween," the term for this automatically created animation, comes from the phrase "in between," because Flash creates the animation between the two keyframes. The most common types of tweens in Flash are motion tweens and shape tweens.
• Motion tweens show movement on the Stage as an instance moves from one position to another or changes properties such as color, size, or rotation. Because a motion tween uses symbols, it is an efficient way to animate objects.
• Shape tweens change one shape to another, in a process known as morphing. You can control how the shape changes by adding and positioning small lettered circles around the area of the shape that you want to preserve.
