Summarize community-level interventions. Give some examples of programs and their components as outlined by the authors.

What will be an ideal response?

Community-level interventions are aimed at reaching families with complex challenges beyond the micro level. These have been designed to decrease risk factors and support protective factors. These typically target low-resourced communities and those with multiple layers of challenges, including things like domestic violence, mental health issues, and substance abuse problems. Community interventions encourage collaboration among service providers. Documented positive effects of these have been decrease in maltreatment referrals, lower rates of substantiated maltreatment, reduced parental stress, and improved parental efficacy. An example of one of these types of programs would be the Darkness to Light program intended to reduce child sexual abuse. Another example is the Triple P program: Positive Parenting Program, which includes public awareness campaigns.
