Differentiate between the two types of renal failure
What will be an ideal response?
Acute renal failure is the abrupt stoppage of kidney function. It is usually recoverable and temporarily results in a reduced urine output and an increase in urea in the blood. Acute renal failure can be caused by a loss of body fluids or damage to the nephrons by injury, infection, hypertension, or toxic chemicals and drugs. Chronic renal failure is the progressive loss of functioning nephrons and is manifested by reduced glomerular filtration rates, accumulation of urea in the blood, and electrolyte and acid-base imbalances. If not treated by dialysis or kidney transplant, chronic renal failure usually leads to death. It can be caused by metabolic disorders, accumulation of toxins, inherited connective-tissue disorders, and hypertensive vascular disorders.
