Why are metamorphic rocks difficult to date accurately? What will be an ideal response?
Heat and pressure may cause the parent or daughter isotope to leak from the mineral being analyzed. If
the daughter is completely lost from the system, the date calculated would be the time since
metamorphism. The decay rate of the parent will not change though.
