What is single-wrap roping?

What will be an ideal response?

Single-wrap roping has the wire pass over the driving sheave once before it moves on to the counterweight. The deflection sheave moves the wire clear of the moving car. This provides a 1:1 ratio, which means it will move the car 1 ft. (305 mm) for every 1 ft. (305 mm) of travel along the circumference of the sheave.
