Describe how LED-to-photodiode technology works and mention some applications that use this technology.

What will be an ideal response?

Because LEDs give off light and photodiodes use light to produce a voltage, these two devices are used in combination for light-emitting/light-detecting systems. For example, the hand-held remote control for a TV uses an LED to emit a light signal, and a photodiode in the TV receives the light and produces a voltage signal to adjust the volume, change channels, etc. Fiber optic communication also relies on LED-to-photodiode technology. Security systems, motion detectors, and many other commercial applications use photodiodes
