How is the topic of diversity addressed on your campus? In what ways is diversity different in college as opposed to high school?

What will be an ideal response?

Many colleges and universities have diversity initiatives on campus. These initiatives may be part of the institution's strategic plan or included in a college pledge. Most institutions' student handbooks have notices of non-discriminatory policies for students. Some campuses have committees that function to field student complaints relative to discrimination issues. Have students investigate what is available to students on your campus. For instance, is there a Women's Center? A Minority Affairs Office? Discuss with students whether it is necessary to have such offices and why they might exist. How does the information they unearth about the programs and services at the institution compare to what was available at their high schools?
