What is the relevance of the battered women's movement to the responses toward intimate partner violence today?

What will be an ideal response?

The grassroots battered women's movement is responsible for our current awareness of intimate partner violence. They are responsible for identifying the victims and heightening public awareness. They have also assisted in intervention strategies and protection and prevention efforts, which include civil and criminal actions that were never before available to intimate partner violence victims. As a result courts have responded with education and batterers intervention programs. Televisions in classrooms nationwide have educated people on the topic.
