Compare and contrast ionic and covalent bonds
What will be an ideal response?
An ionic bond is when one molecule loses an electron and gives it to another molecule. One molecule becomes positive and the other one becomes negative. This forms a weak magnetic attraction between the two molecules. A covalent bond is when two or more molecules share an electron with each other. The bond is much stronger than an ionic bond.
