A basic de?nition of a con?ict of interest is any situation in which an attorney’s professional judgment might be affected because of business or personal interests. Taking on a new client who wishes to sue a current client is an example of a con?ict of interest inasmuch as an attorney in this situation is prevented from properly representing one party without adversely affecting the other.
