Summarize how females and minorities have been formally and informally excluded from jury duty.
What will be an ideal response?
Answers should discuss how women and racial and ethnic minorities were historically excluded from serving in juries. Even after various case laws permitted women and minorities to serve in theory, they were still excluded in practice through the use of peremptory challenges. At present, LGBTQ persons are not protected from exclusion by any law at the federal level, although there are laws in some states.
