Describe the process that occurs when a charge of unethical behavior is made against a psychologist.
What will be an ideal response?
A complaint may be dismissed by the Ethics Committee if it does not meet jurisdictional criteria, or the Ethics Committee chair fail to find grounds for action. If the Ethics Committee does find jurisdiction and grounds for the complaint an investigation is started. The psychologist against whom the complaint is made receives a charge letter and is given an opportunity to provide the committee with comment and materials regarding the allegations.
