When servicing and lubricating a motor, why must a technician use the proper oil?

What will be an ideal response?

If the oil is too thin, it will drip readily, not providing adequate coating and allow the shaft to rub against the bearing surface. If the oil is too thick, it will not flow correctly to reach all desired locations (for example, between the shaft and bearing).
