How do point and non-point sources differ? Give one example of each.

What will be an ideal response?

Point sources discharge at a specific location. Examples are pipes, ditches, sewer lines, and discharges from factories and mines.

Non-point sources are more diffuse and consist of runoff from land. They are harder to control, identify, and clean. Non-point sources include parking lots, golf courses, yards, streets, farmland, etc.
