Describe the guidelines to keep in mind as you develop a list of effective goals for a project?

What will be an ideal response?

• Write goals in active voice rather than passive voice, using verbs that move the action along and that identify you, your team, or the client as the actors. For example, use sell products rather than product sales will increase.

• Use action verbs to help you select achievable goals rather than concepts. For example, brand recognition is a concept, not a goal; increase brand recognition is a goal. Action verbs include words such as achieve, increase, and provide.

• Be specific when you are creating goals. Identify specific products, programs, or outputs; and when possible, specify an identifiable and measurable amount of change. For example: Increase sales of “Widget A” by 10 percent. By creating specific goals, you are able to evaluate your success in the future.

• Create individual goals that touch on different aspects of the product, service, or event that you are promoting. For example, in addition to selling products, you might want to advertise reliable support.
