Discuss possible effects of cell phones on brain activity
What will be an ideal response?
Cell phones emit electromagnetic waves and using cell phones changes brain activity. These changes may or may not be harmful. A study by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) published in JAMA in 2011 concluded the radiation that cell phones emit affects the human brain. The closer the brain is to the cell phone, the greater the activity of the brain. Nothing in the study speaks to the long-term use of cell phones, however, and most studies agree that they are safe to use.
