Discuss the difference between legal and technical violations

What will be an ideal response?

Both types of violation are linked to an offender's supervision in the community and to the conditions of that supervision. If a person commits a new crime while on probation, that person has committed a legal violation and is subject to having probation revoked and to being charged with that new crime. If a person repeatedly violates a condition of probation such as meeting with the probation officer or leaving the jurisdiction without permission, he or she has committed a technical violation and is subject to having probation revoked.
