With two-factor theory, maintenance needs are primarily met financially and motivators are met non-financially. Acquired needs rewards vary with need. People with high n Ach seek achievement and can be motivated to achieve goals with both types of rewards. The n Pows tend to use both because having power is a nonfinancial reward, but as people gain power, they often get pay raises. The n Affs’s needs are meet primarily though relationships.
