Compare and contrast the occurrence of trenches in the Pacific Ocean with the Atlantic Ocean. What will be an ideal response?

Oceanic trenches are more prevalent in the Pacific Ocean compared to the Atlantic
Ocean due to the processes that form them. Trenches are formed at convergent zones
where ocean floor is subducted into the mantle. At these intersections, deep trenches
are formed. The Pacific Ocean is a much more active area with a high prevalence of
convergent zones compared to the Atlantic.
