Explain how to start-up F-202. List each step.
What will be an ideal response?
The following procedures were developed using the principles of instructional system design. A profile or matrix was developed during the analysis phase identifying the key competency categories and supporting objectives. This list has been included in this chapter. The materials are designed to move from simple to complex and reflect the operational procedures for the Furnace 202 system.
1. Open PCV-100 to 100%
2. Purge furnace for 15 minutes with Steam.
3. Line-up P-100 to F-202 and intoTK-100
4. Set FIC-100 to 200 gpm.
5. Start P-100
6. Monitor process pressures.
7. Increase FIC-100 to 400 gpm
8. Monitor process pressures and level in TK-100.
9. Set AIC-100 to 3% and place in AUTO
10. Set PIC-100 to .05 and CASC to AIC -100.
11. Set FIC-101 to 3,500 cu ft/hr. & place in MAN.
12. Set AIC-101 to 21% and place in AUTO
13. Light burner and allow F-202 to come up to temperature.
14. Increase FIC-100 to 600 gpm.
15. Set FIC-101 to 8,500 cu ft/hr
16. Increase FIC-100 to 800 gpm and put controller in AUTO
17. Set TIC 100 to 350ºF and put controller in AUTO
18. Increase FIC-101 to 12,500 MBH and CASC to TIC- 100
19. Set LIC-1 to 75% and put in AUTO.
20. Cross-Check process variables with SPEC sheet.
