What is the relationship between power bases and resistance and/or compliance?
What will be an ideal response?
When power comes from an extrinsic source, meaning power is in a person's title or
position, group members comply, but can offer resistance. However, when someone's power is
intrinsic, we tend to comply willingly as a result of the positive feelings we have toward the
person in power. When a power wielder's power resides within him or her, we are more
willing to like and/or respect that person.
