Explain differential appraisal
What will be an ideal response?
High neuroticism individuals are more likely to appraise situations negatively even when the situations are nonthreatening (high primary appraisal) and to lack confidence in their ability to utilize personal resources to cope with or gain mastery over these situations (low secondary appraisal). For example, thoughts of "This always happens to me" and "I guess I'm just cursed or something" suggest a predominance of helplessness-oriented secondary appraisals.
