As a head teacher in a child care center, how will you plan for the first part of the day when children arrive? Answer this question in terms of the beginning of the school year, when many of the children are new, and later in the year, when the children are familiar with the center and its routines

What will be an ideal response?

ANS: During the beginning of the school year it is important to have a planned daily schedule to allow for structure. Planned centers provide the best focus as children begin their day. As you move through the school year children need less attention upon arrival and caregivers can spend more time with parents at the start of the day. Children can move directly into open ended learning centers.
