According to the text, what are some of the factors individuals and couples need to weigh before deciding whether or not to have children?

What will be an ideal response?

Couples must consider how this will affect their lifestyle and their needs, and they must realize that family roles have to be realigned to make room for a baby. They need to understand that the family system will be out of balance for a while, and that role conflict and role strain associated with household tasks and dual-earner families are inevitable. The responsibilities of parenthood will restrict the couple's freedom and marital satisfaction will change (more than likely it will decline). And finally, couples that choose to have children must face an inescapable fact: Children cost money.
Financial strains will increase as additional stressors are placed on the couple and family.
