Explain how the filament type lamp produces light.

What will be an ideal response?

The lamp produces light as a result of current flow through a tungsten filament that is enclosed within a glass envelope. As current flows through the tungsten filament, it gets very hot. The conversion of electrical energy to heat energy in the resistive wire filamentis so intense that the filament starts to glow and emits light.
