Directionally refers to the flow of exchange between two or more members. This property is also called reciprocity. Reciprocity refers to whether social support and resources move both ways between actors in a network. In a network that has a focal individual who requires the support and resources of the others, it is possible that the majority of actors will be giving rather than receiving aid.
