The Reading Record is a practical and user-friendly way to organize data. It consists of three sections: A list of the student’s reading goals, a summary of student performance, journal judgments of student performance, and standardized test results. Teachers are able to record assessment data in the Record, keep ongoing notes from observation, discussion, and questioning. The teacher can integrate all the information and plan instruction for the class as well as small groups based on the data collected.
