What does AIDA stand for? Briefly explain each section of the persuasive sales letter
AIDA stands for attention, interest, desire/conviction, and action.
Attention. Because most sales letters are unsolicited, you must capture the readers' attention in the first couple of lines.
Interest. After capturing the readers' attention, you must build their interest in learning what you have to say and how complying with your request will benefit them.
Desire. The desire/conviction section should convince the readers that they need to have your product or service because of the benefits they will derive from it. Features are interpreted as reader benefits.
Action. The specific action requested should be easy and clear. The action paragraph should motivate readers to respond immediately.
