What will be an ideal response?
Ans: Varies. The theory is an attempt to explain. Therefore, this would be a useful concept in a research study because it provides guidance on what to measure and what to expect as a result of your study so that you would have a basis for developing your study hypothesis and for drawing conclusions. The theory is more likely to be useful than the concept of paradigm or ideology. However, you might find the idea of a paradigm to be useful, for it is a concept that probably guided people in the development of theories. The concept of ideology is not as useful because it refers to rigidly held beliefs unless it is relevant to a human service intervention that might be viewed as contradictory of a given ideology.
