Mosley organizes the types of tests according to whether they employ static or dynamic techniques and whether the test is automated or manual. Static testing means that the code being tested is not executed. The results of running the code are not an issue for that particular test. Dynamic testing, on the other hand, involves execution of the code. Automated testing means the computer conducts the test, whereas manual testing means that people complete the test.
