How are an organism’s lifetime energy use and economics analogous?

What will be an ideal response?

ANSWER: Every organism is constrained by a finite energy budget, the total amount of energy it can
accumulate and use for activities (growth, reproduction, maintenance). Energy can be
stored (saved) and allocated (spent) for various functions as needed within the constraints
of its genetics, physiology and morphology. When energy is “spent” on one function, it
cannot be “spent” on another function. However, energy budgets cannot be overspent
(overdrawn).
