Create an idea for a mobile game. Consider theme, goals, and target market. Don’t worry about fleshing things out too much at this stage. Your goal is to create a concept in 1-3 paragraphs.

What will be an ideal response?

Each student should come up with an original concept for a game that will be played on mobile devices (smartphones and/or tablets using iOS or Android). In 1-3 paragraphs, they should discuss the concept’s theme, goals, and target market. One paragraph could be devoted to each of the three “sections” of this concept (theme, goals, target market). The theme should cover the premise or high concept (main idea behind the game) and the basic narrative. A theme might involve trust, betrayal, revenge, redemption, guilt, suspicion, loyalty, power, commitment, or sacrifice. Narrative would include a description of any primary characters, along with the game’s basic action. Goals might include the overall goal of the game, along with significant victory and defeat conditions. Finally, the target market includes demographics (stats such as age range) and psychographics (values, attitudes, behaviors, and lifestyle) of the players.
