Calculate MK's daily energy requirements using the Harris-Benedict equation and an activity factor
Harris-Benedict equation for females:
BEE = 655 + [9.6 x wt] + [1.7 x ht] - [4.7 x age]
= 655 + [9.6 x 44.5] + [1.7 x 162.6] - [4.7 x 21]
= 655 + [427.2] + [276.4] - [98.7]
= 655 + 604.9
= 1259.9 or 1260
The activity factor will very depending on your method of teaching and the student's perception but it should range between 1.3 and 1.5 . This would be equal to:
1260 x 1.3 = 1638 to 1260 x 1.5 = 1890
