Explain the relationship between globalization and cyberactivism. Include an example from the course or the reading in your discussion.

What will be an ideal response?

Correct answer varies but could include that the existence of the internet has given those opposed to globalization in general, or to some specific aspect of it, a powerful tool with which to mount their opposition on a regional and even a global basis. Indeed, the origins of the antiglobalization social movement at the World Trade Organization meetings in Seattle in late November 1999 were based on cyberactivism, as were the ensuing protests in Washington, DC (April 2000), Prague (September 2000), Genoa (July 2001), and other cities. Furthermore, the World Social Forum was also made possible by such activism.
