Compare and contrast the origin and roles of B cells and T cells
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Both B cells and T cells are called lymphocytes. They both originate in the bone marrow. However B cells mature in the bone marrow while T cells mature in the thymus. B cells are precursors of antibody-producing plasma cells; T cells are not. T-cells directly interact with and can lysis infected human cells, while B cells produce antibodies and do not directly kill infected cells.
