Several factors have combined to create a low-skill, impoverished, youthful population that is desperate for economic security. Four are detailed in the text. Briefly, a sentence or so each; summarize them.

Population. The world population since 1945 has more than tripled. Much of the growth has occurred in the least developed countries, 50% or more of whose populations are under the age of 15. These young people often lack opportunity or the education required to succeed in the new global economy.
War. War and internal unrest and genocide have displaced people across the globe. The world is overwhelmed with over 50 million refugees and displaced persons who offer an inexhaustible supply of workers.
Economic development. Countries have adopted development strategies that rely on the export of goods to the world. Western corporations contract with factories across the globe who compete with one another for business based on their ability to manufacture goods inexpensively. Workers in factories manufacturing goods destined for Europe and the United States typically are required to work long hours for low wages in undesirable conditions. Agricultural land has been consolidated into large holdings that cultivate export crops like flowers. This has removed people from the land, limited the production of agricultural crops, and driven up the domestic price of the food in the developing world.
Education. Developing countries suffer from limited government finances as a result of a small tax-paying population and tax evasion among the wealthy. Relatively little money is available for public education, particularly in science and technology. As a result, there is a shortage of skilled labor able to compete at an advanced level in the global economy.
