What are precedents and dependentsand why is it important to be able to trace them?
What will be an ideal response?
Precedent cells are cells that supply a value to a formula in the active cell and dependent cells are cells whose values depend on the value in the active cell for a result. When you trace precedents and dependents, Excel marks with arrows all the cells that supply values to the active cell or are dependent upon the value in the active cell. This can help you visually troubleshoot a problem with a formula in the active cell.
