Why is a bill guaranteed to fail if a president chooses to pocket veto it?

What will be an ideal response?

Pocket vetoes are used for bills sent to the president within ten days of the end of a congressional session. Therefore, once the bill has been vetoed, Congress is no longer in session to consider an override of the president’s veto.
